It’s time for the Spring/Summer update of our farm. We think, but aren’t sure spring is here. The weather is fooling all of us. Since we are having all this cool weather, we are happy we don’t have any crias due. All our crias are due in September.

We actually got both hay fields cut and baled and in the sheds. We didn’t have a big yield but at least we didn’t get rained on this year.

All our shearing is done. We had the best help this year than ever. Ray & I used to shear all our alpacas by hand but when we reached close to 30 animals, we decided it’s time to hire a professional shearer. It’s a great feeling to have it all done. We are now ready for the hot summer.

We lost little Tiffany our Bichon Frise of 11 years this spring to cancer. She got very sick very quickly. The cats sure miss her. They spent a lot of time together. However, we found a little dog at the shelter and adopted him. He has been so much fun to have around. He finally is making friends with the cats. He even wags his tail and tries to make friends with the alpacas. Our house was just too empty without a dog.

We have a busy summer ahead of us with four bus tours coming here. They are comprised of mostly seniors. They usually spend about an hour touring the farm and shoppe.

We will be at Old Tyme Days in Mantorville this June 28 and Days of Yesteryear in Rochester on August 8th & 9th.. Also, we will be at Marigold Days in Mantorville on September 12th and 13th. .

If you are thinking of getting into the alpaca business, we have good bloodlines and great deals. We would love to show you our animals that are for sale. We offer free delivery and discounts for purchasing two or more alpacas.

Stop and see us if you are in the neighborhood. We are usually here. We love to meet you.

Have a great and safe summer.

Ray & Sandy
